Update 08-03-10
5:33PM------Today is a glorious day. I have found my adopted daughter today.
It was confirmed in the last few hours from the Missouri Adoption
Registery. They made a match from my registry informaton and with
her bio moms consent my information was sent to her for her to
contact me at her convience. I can not describe what I am feeling
right now at this moment..I've been wanting to find her for the last 23
years of my life and the day has come that I and her mother have
waited for. I cried for the longest time upon hearing the lady on the
phone confirming it was her..I am tearing up now as I write this as well...
I just want to say to others searching for there adopted children or Bio
parents not to ever give up searching. And registering with Search Agencys
they do work and did in my case..
3:00 AM ---It has been a few months since I posted any updates as I had taken
a break from my search for personal reasons and other stuff going
on in my life as well. I am finding that this searching can be a tiring,
dissapointing, cumbersome search hearing all the no's and hoping and
wishing for the one yes that will end this search for my daughter. The
good news is I have eliminated about 20 names so far from my list of
106 when I started. I continue to find contact information for people
on my list but also run into phone numbers that are no longer active
which I guess is going to force me to send out letters in the mail to
last known addresses. I will also in the next few weeks be requesting
non identifying information from the State of Missouri and also the
adoption agency my daughter was adopted through. I thank all those
that visit this site and the continued support I receive from my family
and others also searching for there adopted children or parents. On a
happy note..I was able to reunite a mother with her daughter she gave
up for adoption and the outcome was a very happy reunion for them
both. At times I get discouraged by this whole process but I keep the
faith that someday I will be reunited with my daughter as well and
hope she will be willing to give us the chance to get to know her
and help her close that part of her life of wondering why she was
given away hopefully to a family that loves her as much as her mom
and I have over the years.
Update 05-22-10
It has been a very busy last month for me as I continue my search.
After talking to my very helpful search Angel Debbie she has provided
me with a option to aid in my search. I have purchased a Missouri Birth
list with the names of all the children that were born on the same day
my daughter was born and have started to make contacts with some
of the girls on this list. This list as I said shows all the children born
on the day my daughter was born....It as well shows all of the CURRENT
names for adopted children given to them by there adoptive parents
instead of the original birthname when they were born. So I have
been told that she will be on this list and that all I need to do is to go
through this list name by name until I find her. There are other seach
criterias that I am using to help weed out some of the names on the
list and to call the priority names first. I have also been making
contacts with some people on this list on Facebook as well as myspace
as it seems most girls this age are on one or both of these social
sites. I have received respones back from most of the messages
that I have sent and have eliminated alot of people from my search
so far and I just
want to thank all of the girls for there time and
effort in aiding me in my search for my daughter.
I continue to
make calls in hopes that I will find her very soon and hope that
she may want to know who her birthparents are. Thank you
all that visit this site
and I hope to have more updates soon.
Updates-04-04-2010
I was invited to join this group on Facebook called Reunion Registry - ISRR
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=754355020&ref=mf#/group.php?gid=195239408209&ref=ts
After joining this group and posting my in search of information
I was contacted by a "Search Angel" who are people
that out of the kindness of there hearts give there time and experience freely
to help people like me and others search for there adopted children and
or Parents. I have received more information on where I can search and
have been provided some links and other things that I can do to help me
in my seach for Angie.. I am hoping the next month will bring me even
closer to having more infomation on finding her. Thank you Debbie for
your help and I am looking forward to working more with you to aid in
my search...more to come...
Updates-03-12-2010
As of today the information I have received from the Adoption
Director of the St. Louis LDS Adoption Agency Angie was
adopted through, Michelle's information was listed
in
there records as far as the adoption going through the Agency,
but there is no information as to who Angie's adopted parents
were or any contact information for the agency
to send a letter of contact too from us. As of yet the legistlation in
Missouri will not allow the birth parents to petition the courts to
open sealed adoption records. The only thing that Michelle and
I can do at this time to to register with the Missouri Adoption
Registry located here.
http://www.dss.mo.gov/cd/adopt/adoir.htm in hopes
that if she so chooses to search for us that she will find us. Today
is a sad day for us receiving this information. I ask for prayers from
all that visit this site that god will provide a way to bring us back together
with our daughter some day....
